Knight could compete with Bobrovsky to start as goalie for Panthers 🏒
Spencer Knight could be part of an open competition to be the starting goalie for the Florida Panthers next season.
The 20-year-old started the final two games for the Panthers in their Stanley Cup First Round loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sergei Bobrovsky started Game 1 and Game 4 in the best-of-7 series. Chris Driedger started Game 2 and Game 3.
"I think I can speak for [coach Joel Quenneville], the one thing that we've been trying to work towards is best players play," Florida general manager Bill Zito said Wednesday. "On any given night, 'Q' is going to trust the lineup, and he's said this time and time again: 'I'm going to try to win hockey games.' There's a lot of factors that go into many things, but we're going to get with the goaltending department and we'll figure it out."
